Katarzyna Sliwa
Katarzyna is an associate practicing in the area of land use planning and development. She was called to the Ontario Bar in 2005.
Katarzyna has assisted landowners and developers in obtaining approvals for development and redevelopment projects, including official plan, zoning, subdivision, severance, variance and site plan matters. She has appeared before the Ontario Municipal Board and at the Committee of Adjustment. Katarzyna has also negotiated and drafted a variety of development related agreements including Section 37 Agreements, Site Plan Agreements, Reciprocal Agreements and Tieback, Encroachment and Crane Swing Agreements.
Prior to joining Davies Howe Partners LLP, Katarzyna had practiced at a major downtown Toronto law firm and acted as in house counsel for a land development company and builder in the GTA, where she gained practical business experience.
Katarzyna studied law at the University of Western Ontario and at the University of Groningen in the Netherlands on exchange. She completed the Intensive Trial Advocacy Workshop at Osgoode Hall in 2007. Prior to law school Katarzyna completed her Honours Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and History at the University of Toronto. She received the Governor General’s Award in 1996 for academic excellence.
Katarzyna is married to Wojciech Mierzejewski, a civil engineer. She enjoys wine, movies, yoga and spending time with her dog Deuce. She is actively taking up golf.
